Hi! I’m Christina. Your resident goat milk soap maker. When I’m not making goat milk soap I am busy raising two little ladies that keep me very busy. I enjoy being outdoors, vacationing with my family, horseback riding, and all things Ohio State (we are both Ohioans born and raised). I have an Associate’s degree in Horse Science and hope to end up back in a stable when the kids are older. If you had told me 10 years ago that I’d be making goat milk soap I’d have looked at you like you were crazy. But here I am! And loving it!\

Gabe - Hello, I’m Gabe. Christina’s right hand man and husband. I work at a multi-species, grass based, regenerative farm here in the Shenandoah Valley and have a degree in livestock science. When I’m not working, I’m usually at home working on a project, in the garden, or playing with the girls.

The Honest Goat Story
When we moved back to Virginia in 2019, I realized I needed a creative outlet—something that would allow me to contribute financially while still staying home with my kids. Gabe had dabbled in soap-making before and suggested I give it a try. I’d always heard about the benefits of goat milk for the skin, so I bought a quart of goat milk, picked up some oils from the grocery store, and made my first batch of unscented goat milk soap.
That first batch was a game-changer. It was gentle, nourishing, and worked beautifully on our skin. From that moment, I knew every bar I made would have goat milk in it. What started as a simple experiment quickly grew into a full-fledged small business—The Honest Goat.
From the beginning, we wanted The Honest Goat to reflect our commitment to sustainability, both environmentally and economically, as well as our passion for clean living. We carefully source our goat milk from local, sustainable farms. The lard in our soaps is rendered in our own home from local, pasture-raised pigs.
Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond ingredients. We package our soaps without plastic and ship without plastic-based supplies. We use only essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance oils, clearly labeling them so you can make the best choice for your family.
As The Honest Goat has grown, so has my passion for creating nourishing skincare beyond just soap. I’ve recently started working with tallow, crafting whipped tallow balms and other products that offer deep, natural moisture for the skin. Just like our soaps, these products are made with carefully sourced ingredients and a commitment to quality.
